| Fred Mc Clintock was one of only three fishing guides, in the entire USA, inducted into the Fresh Water Fishing Hall of fame in 2002 and is Dale Hollow Lakes only fishing guide that has been inducted into the Fresh Water Fishing Hall Of Fame. He was inducted because of the innovations he has made to fishing in his lifetime. One of those innovations was the technique he came up with in the 1960's, to use spinning tackle to fly fish for trout named the floatin' fly. In the early 1990's Charlie Nuckols contacted Fred and told him he had a new system called the float-n-fly to catch Smallmouth in the cold water. Charlie said "I was told that you always know where the big Smallmouth are and you could show me where to catch them in the dead of winter." Fred and Charlie went fishing and Fred was the first guide to fish the float-n-fly on Dale Hollow Lake and the rest is history.
Fred has been in hundreds of articles in every major fishing magazines in the USA and has also appeared in many books and newspapers across the country. He has been called one of the greatest multispecies fisherman ever. All Smallmouth are released after pictures have been taken and they will be sent to your e-mail.
